What I want
By Bhavana Sarin
What I want is shrouded in mystery
Swirling in misty doubts
The endower's entity
Concealed behind the clouds
Who/what is it meant to be
A Person, a place, a feeling,
An experience, an achievement, a journey?
Is it to be discovered in the 'special'
Or in deciphering the mundane.
The seers, the enlightened, the prophets
Say it exists within
How?
Does it originate on its own?
If it does, then I have no say
What I want is already there
Can it speak to me
So that I too am aware.
And
If I'm the one guiding and homing it
Then what is it to be
What my heart yearns for
Or what the brain decrees
Because they're at war very often
Let me will it this way :
The 'some' of all the 'yous'
The 'all' of ME
The moments, the ecstasies, the despair
The hope, the winged angels and cupids,
the tenderness, the smiles & laughter,
The alphabets, the lyrics, the thoughts...
Earnest in my fervour
For these not to be a mirage,
Not a conundrum to be deciphered
Let them be the unravelling of the maze
Of all that I want.
